Utah sees first concrete apartments

A New, Sustainable Method Makes Its Way to Tooele

December 23rd, 2013 – Tooele, Utah – Tom Stuart Construction crews will build an entire apartment building in less time than it takes for you to receive an order you placed online. The contractor is tilting up concrete walls on December 27th for their newest development: The Cove at Overlake Apartments

The Cove at Overlake Apartments is a 132-Units, “Class A,” multifamily apartment complex. They are the first apartments, in Utah, to be built entirely out of concrete, using a tilt-up method where the walls are poured on the ground and then tilted to form the building.

“We are beyond excited to be the first apartment complex built out of such a strong, stable and sustainable material.” STAY Capital Principal, Rich Day says, “Thanks to concrete, the biggest issue with most apartments is eliminated: noise transference between units.”

Chartwell Capital (dba STAY Capital) is a private equity real estate investment firm, strategically partnered with Tom Stuart Construction, offering investments of commercial real estate development and asset management to Accredited Investors, Funds, RIAs and Corporations.

“Not only do you avoid most issues with rodents, insects and mold, with concrete” Day continues, “you enjoy a more sustainable, environmentally friendly product which has amazing energy efficiencies and insurance ratings.”
